The question "I wonder who has moved into the house ... ... , ... ... the street?" could use 'us' after opposite (as it makes you ask 'opposite what?'): ...the house opposite us, across the street. Otherwise the more likely phrasing (if you had to include both) would be "the opposite house, across the street" turning opposite into an adjective, describing the house. However, it's far more likely in this situation that only one of the two would be chosen, as it's redundant:
... the house opposite us.
... the house across the street [implied from us].

Secondarily, "Please be careful with that thing, or you might easily ..." has a more black-and-white issue in that it uses "break" for two answers. I think you intended to have one be "break" and the other "brake" (like a car), but instead the first version was used twice.
