Loved it. I’m no expert but could deduce many questions, and I learned new things along the way. Thank you. 

One thing, I believe that a star’s colour indicates it's temperature rather age. When a star transitions to its red giant stage of life it expands and cools (temperature reduction) and thus turns redder. So in this case (and some others such as white dwarves) colour is linked to age but only because of the role of temperature in that stage of life. I hope that makes sense?

It does make good sense, I thank you for your feedback and precision. The relation is not direct as you mentioned but rather a deduction from the star temperature.
